6 easy steps to book trips…
While an optimized website with user-friendly technical features is in the making, passengers can book trips in the following 6 easy steps manually:
- Read the information below titled “Details of our services”.
- Decide which car you want to book for your trip (XL or Economy).
- Send us an email with the following information completely and accurately (you can copy/paste these headings into the e-mail).
a. Legal name of passenger booking the trip.
b. Emergency contact’s name and mobile number (should not be a part of the trip).
b. Number of passengers (regardless of age).
c. Number of suitcases.
d. Number of stroller bags.
e. Details of special baggage or equipment such as wheelchair, stroller, etc.
f. Desired date (timings mentioned in the details are fixed).
g. Pick-up address.
h. Drop-off address.
(Please note that accuracy of the above information is paramount to avoid last minute hassle and cancellation fees) - Within 2 hours of receipt of above email during business hours, we will confirm availability of the desired reservation by email.
- Upon confirmation of reservation, please make the payment by Interac at [email protected] and email us the proof of transfer (i.e. the screenshot of the bank confirmation). Please note that at this time this is the only way available to make the payments. By making the payment, you will be understood to have read and agreed with the terms of service.
- We will acknowledge receipt of payment and will confirm the reservation by email.
DETAILS OF OUR SERVICES
We are currently offering the following private transportation services:
– Edmonton to Calgary.
– Calgary to Edmonton.
– Full day hire anywhere from or to Edmonton.
Vehicles, Timings, & Rates:
XL option: Acura MDX or similar
Capacity: (Upto 6 passengers, 2 suitcases & 3 roller bags or equivalent)
Pick-up time:
For Edmonton to Calgary: 7.30 AM (MST)
For Calgary to Edmonton: 1.30 PM (MST)
For full day hire: 10 hour time to start at 7.30 AM with pick-up and end at 5.30 PM at drop-off location.
Fares:
– Edmonton to Calgary or Calgary to Edmonton: C$399 + 5% GST=C$418.95
– Full day hire anywhere (max 10 hours): C$250+C$0.56 per km+5% GST ($950 deposit required). Pick-up distance from our office address to be paid by passenger at the per km rate.
Economy option: Toyota Corolla Hatchback or similar
Capacity: (Upto 4 passengers, 1 suitcases & 1 roller bags or equivalent)
Pick-up time:
For Edmonton to Calgary: 7.30 AM (MST)
For Calgary to Edmonton: 1.00 PM (MST)
For full day hire: to start at 7.30 AM with pick-up and end at 5.30 PM at drop-off location (10 hours duration).
Fares:
– Edmonton to Calgary or Calgary to Edmonton: C$269 + 5% GST=C$282.45
– Full day hire anywhere: C$250+C$0.18 per km+5% GST ($650 deposit required; adjustments for actual fare to be made at the end of trip). Pick-up distance from our office address to be paid by passenger at the per km rate.
Note: A round trip for any vehicle type will be discounted by 10% over the total of inbound and outbound trip fares. If vehicle is to be retained at the intermediate stop (in Edmonton or Calgary, as the case may be), it will be charged @20/hour extra provided vehicle does not leave the city limits of the intermediate stop. Retention and extra fare rate for outside the city limits should be discussed and agreed in advance.
TERMS OF SERVICE
- General procedure:
a. Driver will arrive at the pickup point 10 minutes before the departure time and will text the passenger.
b. Passenger will arrive no later than 10 minutes of the designated time.
c. If passenger does not show up by that time, driver will text again and if no response, will try calling the passenger. If passenger still not accessible, driver will cancel the trip and leave the pickup point. - Responsibilities of driver:
a. Be respectful and professional ensuring compliance with traffic laws, safety, and punctuality.
b. Dress appropriately, be hygienic, ensure good mannerism.
c. Accommodate passenger’s directions while ensuring the compliance with law, designated route, and timings.
d. Allow break requests by the passenger during the trip upto a cumulative time of 40 minutes. Stops will be made by the driver only in the legally permitted parking areas.
e. Ensure that the vehicle is road worthy and clean before starting the trip. - Responsibilities of Passenger(s):
a. Lead passenger shall be at least 18 years of age (govt issued photo ID may be requested by the driver). Minors will not be transported without an accompanying adult carer.
b. Be respectful to driver and any other stakeholder during the travel.
c. Allow reasonable washroom break to driver when requested.
d. Must avoid:- i. giving directions to driver or any other actions that might compromise driver’s ability to drive safely, and overall trip safety.
- ii. being intoxicated or under influence of alcohol before and/or during the trip.
- iii. smoking or vaping inside the vehicle.
- iv. strong scent or odor.
- v. making a mess inside the car.
- vi. any kind of disruptive behavior.
e. Load the baggage into the vehicle as per guidance of the driver who will ensure securement of the baggage.
f. Must wear seatbelt.
g. Must be physically capable of travelling. In case passenger health deteriorates during the travel necessitating cancellation of the trip, driver will only offer appropriate immediate support such as calling the emergency services. However, any and all expenses and care in this regard will be provided by the passenger, emergency services, or their heirs, as applicable.
h. Cooperate with driver in case of any unforeseen situation such as traffic jams or vehicle breakdown.
i. Must not bring any kind of weapon and/or any dangerous and/or, illegal cargo inside the vehicle.
j. Must not damage the vehicle or threaten the driver in any manner to avoid appropriate charges and legal action. - Cancellation and refunds:
a. Cancellations by passengers can be made with full refund if requested at least 12 hours before the trip start time. Cancellations will be requested by email or mobile text. Date/time stamp of the email or text in recipient inbox will be used to reference timing of cancellation for the purpose of refunds.
b. Cancellations within 12 hours of start time or no-show by passenger at start time of the trip (with allowance of 15 minute wait time after designated time) will be accommodated with 25% refund only, if the company does not find a reservation for the cancelled spot. If company does find a reservation by another passenger for the cancelled spot, full refund will be made to the passenger.
c. For cancellations within 12 hours for full day hire option, $250 will be forfeited and the rest will be refunded if the company does not find a reservation for the cancelled spot. If company does find a reservation by another passenger for the cancelled spot, full refund will be made to the passenger..
d. Trip cancellation requested or caused by the passenger due to any reason after start of the trip will not be refunded in any amount. For full day hire option, $250 plus charges based on actual distance travelled from the company’s office address will be forfeited and the rest will be refunded.
e. Trip cancellations during the trip caused by accident, road closures, weather, or any other factor beyond company’s control will be refunded on pro-rated basis, as calculated by the trip’s planned distance. While company may propose alternative arrangements at cost, passenger will be free to make their own arrangements.f. Company can make trip cancellations due to any unforeseen internal or external reason before start of the trip without having to justify its action. In that case full refund will be made to the passenger and no extra-liability or responsibility will be due on part of the company.
g. Driver reserves the right to require the passenger to vacate the vehicle and end the trip without any refund in case the passenger’s attitude potentially compromises:- i. safety of the trip
- ii. safety and/or dignity of driver
- iii. or constitutes violation of terms of use in any material way.
h. Refunds will be issued within 7 business days of the cancellation and to the account from which the payment was made by the passenger.
- Tips: Tips are not required. However, should passenger wish to tip the driver, they may do so through Interac or in cash. Entire tip amount will go to the driver.
- Indemnification against damages/liability: Kuka Express and its management are expressly indemnified against any and all claims of damages or liability for the services they will provide in good faith.
